About
Hi! My name is Emma Chiaravalli and I am an illustrator in Philadelphia. As you can probably tell, my last name (key-are-uh-volley) is Italian. Most of my family lives in Italy so I travel there a lot and pick up inspiration from the beautiful and interesting things I see. I have always been someone who enjoy spending time with children and doing what I can to enrich their lives. I have been a full time and part time nanny over the past seven years, and have worked for a number of families with children of all ages ranging from 1-13. I did an internship in High School with an elementary school art teacher at St. Peter’s School, and went on to work there in the aftercare program (REACH) for two years. During my time working in REACH, I helped students with their homework, supervised free time, and ran an enrichment class once a week on zoom in which we would do art projects. I completed my observation through Temple University at Memphis Academy Charter, where I worked with the art teacher with grades 6, 7 and 8. I also spent some time volunteering at the Main Line Art Center in a weekend art class for individuals with special needs. I am now completing my student teaching at West Philadelphia High School. I have never had a dull moment working with children or students, and am excited to continue doing just that!
